Sr Manager, IT - Supply Chain Technology

The Transportation technology team is part of the Supply Chain technology team.  As a Senior Manager supporting Transportation systems, you will be responsible for developing, evolving and executing on our technology strategy to support all aspects of transporting goods to and from our fulfillment and distribution network.  You will be a strong partner with our business teams to transform our landscape and support improvements to our technology that creates great customer experiences while improving our cost structure.  The ideal candidate will have experience with the flow of physical goods and supporting data for distribution and fulfillment to include 

Inbound logistics including import, carrier scheduling and route planning/optimization, shuttle/milk runs, vendor lead times, purchase orders, advance ship notices, forecasting and planning for multi-node networks. Outbound transportation including multi-carrier rate shopping, freight auditing, forecasting.

  • Creates and supports large scale, cross company technical innovations/solutions for complex business problems
  • Leads a staff of technology professionals and provides coaching and mentoring to other tech leaders and engineers
  • Develops technology roadmap to meet our growing business needs
  • Focuses on day-to-day operations of the team and ensures effective execution and implementation of programs
  • Guides and influences people and processes in pursuit of the team’s goals and objectives
  • Proven track record of forming technology teams that achieve data driven outcomes (e.g. FTE/contractor mix, vendor management, skills mix, local/remote) 
  • Proven track record of applying continuous improvement methodologies across teams (e.g. quantifies impacts, customer first, waste elimination, increased productivity, iterates quickly, shorten feedback loop, experience creating relevant KPIs) 
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or closely related degree or equivalent practical experience 
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience with deep hands-on technical expertise
  • 5+ years leading and developing teams preferable 
  • Supply Chain/Transportation/Logistics experience preferred
  • Track record of building and innovating to break industry established norms
  • Experience developing high availability, low latency distributed systems
  • Experience working in matrix environments with multiple stakeholders to successfully drive results
  • Data driven decision maker.  Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communicator, both written and orally.  Able to influence at all levels from engineer to executive.
