The Senior Network Engineer will be a hands on role responsible for supporting all technical and service delivery aspects of the network environment for the Seattle and Minneapolis offices including network security, LAN connectivity, WAN connectivity, tcp load balancing, Internet, partner circuits and QoS. The ideal candidate will not only possess the strong technical requirements outlined below but will also be energetic, flexible and committed to excellence.
The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, deploying and maintaining highly available networks and enjoys working in a team oriented, goal-driven environment.  The individual must have strong hands-on operational and troubleshooting skills for production data centers.  Experience working in the financial services industry is a plus.
Position may be located at either Seattle, Minneapolis or Boston locations.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Responsible for executing network projects, specifically those involving design, maintenance and new feature implementation as well as resolving tickets escalated to the networking team from engineering teams and the support desk.
  • Provide technical leadership and assists with projects by other IT groups and business units that require network engineering aspects.
  • Install and maintain all routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers in various network configurations. Support VLANs, QoS, VoIP and advanced routing (OSPF, BGP) security protocols.
  • Provide Tier 3 escalation in troubleshooting complex Infrastructure technical issues
  • Participate in a rotational on-call schedule with other members of the network team
  • Maintains network in a manner that meets organization’s security, configuration and availability objectives; follow industry-standard best practices.
  • Identify areas of network improvement and recommend solutions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation off all aspects of the enterprise network.
  • Maintain enterprise wireless solution including feature enhancements, security controls, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate closely with the overall corporate IT team including site visits to Boston and Minneapolis.
  • Assist the IT Security Office in support of technologies such as Firewall, IDS/IPS, SPAN aggregators, packet analysis systems, centralized syslog, firewall design, and network forensics.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience with routing and switching in both wide area and local area networks 
  • CCNP certification preferred; commensurate experience also accepted
  • Experience in an enterprise sized, global organization with stringent requirements for network availability highly desirable
  • Experience in corporate networking technologies, such as wireless and SSL interception
  • Experiences in supporting network in a highly virtualized server environment
  • Experience with Change Management and Configuration processes, specifically knowledge of the ITIL v3 framework 
  • Excellence in testing and documentation of procedures
  • Expert in Cisco’s product line of routers and switches including but not limited to: Nexus 2k/5k/9k, Catalyst 3850s, 6500 VSS, 2900/3900/4000 routers
  • Expertise with protocols including but not limited to OSPF, BGP, RPVST, 802.1q, SNMP
  • Knowledge of network security products a major plus, including Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Bluecoat Proxy, IPSec and SSL VPNs
  • Experience in supporting iSCSI storage protocols a plus
  • Experience in supporting Cisco Meraki Wireless technology a plus
  • Knowledge of F5 LTM and BIG-IP DNS (GTM)
  • Experience with Nagios XI, Infoblox NetAutomation  and Splunk a plus
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to work well independently and with teams
