Sales Engineer

Our client develops innovative cloud-based technology to make it easier, more effective and more efficient to make the right connections.  They provide a fully scalable, carrier-grade network to help cloud-based telecommunications companies build and deploy complex communications systems.

Essential Duties:
  • Maintain a high level of working knowledge, technical capabilities and functionality of assigned business segment platforms, systems, and applications
  • Lead and participate in providing support to sales staff in the development and implementation of specific sales and negotiation strategies to achieve new business as they pertain to functional or technical requirements of assigned business segment systems
  • Participate in the development of technical responses for Request for Proposal (RFP) for complex sales
  • Demonstrate use of business segment platforms, systems and applications to potential customers
  • Make industry presentations to audiences at industry trade shows and technology seminars
  • Assist in creating and maintaining Sales Engineering team demonstration systems and equipment.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or University with major case work in computer science, engineering or related field required
  • Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements

Experience:
  • 5+ years increasingly responsible experience in software engineering or technical sales required
  • An understanding of the PSTN, cloud services and solutions, SIP trunking, IP network infrastructure, messaging, and APIs preferred
  • Experience selling SaaS, UCaaS, and/or CPaaS strong preferred
  • Prior professional experience working with minimal supervision
  • Self-starter with excellent time-management skills
  • Superior relationship management and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; experience delivering compelling presentations to large audiences
  • Travel required within assigned territory, as needed
