We are currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Controller to be responsible for all aspects of accounting, including financial statements, general accounting, cost accounting, accounts payable, budgeting, tax compliance, banking & insurance relationships and various strategic projects. The right person for this role is comfortable working across internal partners to ensure accurate and timely accounting, able to deliver accurate financial information and analysis, responsive to changing business needs, and takes pride in accuracy as part of being a trusted partner. This position will manage the staff accountant, payroll manager and other roles as appropriate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the operations of the Accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Manufacturing Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Payroll
Promote business partnership with department leadership through active collaboration, support, and pursuit of strategic and tactical opportunities and challenges.
Partner with department leadership in the preparation, review and analysis of department level budgets, forecasts and analysis of results.
Assess, review, and maintain the Vendor payment processes
Ensure all proper activities related to the cash application, customer deduction tracking and credit/collection process performed by the sales operations department are accurate
Maintain periodic balance sheet reconciliations for all subledger accounts.
Responsible for the administration of company internal controls in conjunction with department leadership including cycle and physical counts of raw material, fixed asset accuracy, segregation of duties, etc.
Oversee all activities related to state and federal tax compliance issues to include sales tax compliance by state
Oversee the tactical operations of external CPAs, financial institutions and property/liability/casualty insurance brokers/carriers, as deemed necessary.
Support and oversee the journal entry, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, and financial statement preparation processes
Provide adequate and cost-effective safeguards to company assets, including ensuring the maintenance of internal accounting and management controls, providing appropriate assistance to leadership in controlling expenses and maximizing returns to preserve value of the company.
Provide timely and accurate financial reporting in support of all departmental requirements
Maintain CPA reviewable systems and effectively support internal and external reviews.
Oversee 401K Administration, Notifications & Annual Audit
Bachelors’ degree in Finance, or equivalent work experience
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a controller, ideally in a manufacturing environment
Minimum 7+ years in accounting/finance roles
Experience in manufacturing costing including development of Bills of Materials, Routings and Standard Costs
Good understanding of relational databases
Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Strong understanding of the general ledger, income statement and balance sheet a must.
Strong understanding of inventory systems and standard/actual costing.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, organizational ability.
Intermediate to advanced experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, or similar programs, including Pivot tables and VLookups
Intermediate to advance knowledge of major accounting software packages. Microsoft Dynamics GP a definite plus.
Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
Work closely with all department leaders of the Company.
Working knowledge of Inventory process and how it flows through manufacturing environment.
