Intrado is looking to hire a Software QA Technician in Montreal to join our Life & Safety business segment.
The candidate will be part of a software development team, and will be working on a Voice Over IP (VoIP) system that receives and distributes emergency calls to call-taking workstations. The system offers a wide variety of call-control functionalities, and has components that run on Linux and Windows.
Essential Duties:
Responsible for performing a variety of tasks that validate and ensure quality new software is distributed from the development departments
Establish and write test plans and test procedures for new software developed prior to being staged to ensure that it meets the specifications
Design, create and execute automated and/or manual test cases, analyze and document the results
Perform functional test of the product to identify bugs and nonconformities, providing the results to the appropriate department or function
Interface with development to determine functional requirements, and ensure those requirements are testable
Education:
Canadian Education
Degree from an accredited college in computer science, or related field required
Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements
Canadian requirement: Proficient spoken and written English and French required
Experience:
Minimum three years experience in software/hardware verification and testing required
Minimum one year experience in networking (e.g., TCPIP, etc.) required
Minimum one year experience in Windows and Linux operating systems including its applications and architecture required
Experience with / knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP, SDP, RTP) is an asset
Experience with JIRA and Zephyr is an asset
