Software Architect

San Ramon, CA/ Remote
Our client is a mobility solutions provider.  Their solution integrates evidence-based best practices in high-risk Hospital Acquired Pressure Injury (HAPI), patient falls and Safe Patient Handling and Mobility (SPHM) activities. They work alongside each facility to create a customized solution that meets the needs of clinician and patient populations. Mobility Technicians are able to capture leading, lagging and real-time indicators through the Atlas Mobility Cloud Software as well as their hardware technology in development to guide and supply evidence to hospital leadership for decisions that impact complications due to immobility.  In order to further impact in the healthcare industry our client has also begun a journey in the medical device space. Their product will help the caregivers with the monitoring and tracking of industry-recommended patient turns and positions to assist with preventing hospital acquired pressure injuries.
● Provide leadership, management as well as technical vision for entire software engineering department
● Responsible for medium and long-term thinking about technology (hardware and software) as a whole and the staff to support and develop it, including the software, the devices on the network, the network, mobile technology, services and software that meet the current, as well as future business needs.
● Support Inception and Elaboration to ensure optimal solution architecture and design
● Ensure all technology practices are in compliance with regulatory standards such as HIPAA, US FDA and IEC 62304
● Create realistic timelines for the development and deployment of all technological services and products
● Work with the business development team to not only develop products but also inform the team how leveraging certain technologies can help the company become more successful
● Improve and optimize the application architecture 
● Streamline the feature deployment pipeline so that the development team can work productively and ensure security and high up-time of the application
● Create workflows for field deployment, training, security protocols, control access, asset management, IT Support, and prototyping initiatives
● Regularly communicate and present updates to key stakeholders
● Mentor, manage and collaborate with team members, empowering them to build solutions that emphasize quality, simplicity, and reliability
● M.S./B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
● Experience working in the medical device industry and understanding of regulations and standards
● 10+ years of software industry experience, including systems engineering, hardware engineering, or technical product/program management experience
● 7+ years in application, data, integration, or strategic architecture
● 1+ years of experience with regulated and or safety critical systems
● Excellent people management experience leading teams to deliver technical programs or products from inception to delivery
● Experience with scrum and other agile development methods
● Proven ability to benchmark and lead innovation in engineering design practices and guidelines
● Experience communicating and representing work to senior leadership and framing discussions to gain valuable feedback and experience working with technical management teams to develop systems, solutions, and products
● Coordinate, write, proof and finalize technical project documents as needed
● Proven experience gathering unstructured data to transform and analyze statistical data, generate reports, and summarize analysis into understandable, actionable reports, and recommendations
● Exceptional ability to use BI technology tools (e.g., Power BI) to collect, maintain, and analyze data
● Experience with Tableau or data visualization tools, having the ability to turn raw data into insightful information
● 7+ years of experience in development, especially including C# development, preferably in the Microsoft space
● 5+ years of experience with distributed storage and database systems, including SQL or NoSQL, MySQL, or Cassandra
● Possess expertise in one or more object-oriented languages, including Python, Go, Java, or C++, and an eagerness to learn more
● Prior experience with strict data standards/protocols and integration, with a preference for those in the health industry, including HL7
● Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with all levels of engineers/staff
● Ability to work under pressure and be flexible on the schedule
● Ability to travel to designated locations as needed
● Ability to sit at a work station operating a device for at least 8 hours per day and lift up to 20 lbs
